Process Engineer will report to Technical Engineer Manager of Process Engineers and be responsible for leading improvement projects/efforts while providing day-to-day technical and process engineering support to operations, capital projects, and product development under FSPC CSR Culture (Safety, Environmental and Quality foundation).
The Process Engineer plays an essential role in process operation monitoring, key process indicator development and tracking, idea generation/project scope development, and technical support to manufacturing. The Process Engineer must be self-initiated, driven, collaborative across various disciplines and backgrounds, and able to prioritize efforts to meet performance goals with minimal supervision. The candidate should be able to generate or accept ideas and apply engineering fundamentals/concepts to develop a practical working solution within a cross functional team using hands-on and practical approach methodology.
Provide subject matter expertise and assist in trouble-shooting/problem solving related to production processes within process area of responsibility.
Continuously monitor and review area processes through KPI tracking to identify, develop, and implement improvements to optimize the process.
Review and update operation procedures, control philosophies, technical data sheets to improve safe operation.
Provide raw material balance information and tracking to Accounting Department for monthly inventory close. Investigate cause for variance as applicable through process operation understanding and knowledge.
Execute project support and implementation within the manufacturing facility based upon business need and management direction. Project responsibilities will include scope development/refinement, providing process condition or parameters, sizing of associated equipment and piping, assist supervising of installation, and assist/manage start-up of equipment and processes.
Work with operations/production personnel, maintenance personnel, technicians, vendors, contractors, and/or other engineers in execution of responsibilities.
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemical or Polymer Engineering or a related field with 3 to 10 years progressive engineering experience.
Experience in production/process engineering, within a chemical refinery or chemical plant is preferred.
The candidate should have solid organizational, project management, and problem solving skill set to provide leadership in area operations and process engineering, i.e. unit operations, process simulation, project scope and design, process/distributive controls (DCS), quality control/assurance, and regulatory compliance.
